Today (02nd/09) Ambassador Karunatilaka Amunugama presentedhis Letter of Credence to the Federal President Joachim Gauck at his official residence (Palace), the Schloss Bellevue in Berlin, as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Ambassador Amunugama conveyed warm best wishes from President Mahinda Rajapaksa to President Joachim Gauck and Sri Lanka's keen interest in strengthening bilateral relations.
Ambassador Amunugama briefed President Gauck on the socio-economic progress and political stability that has been achieved in the aftermath of the war against LTTE terrorism as well as on the initiatives taken by the Government on the national reconciliation and nation building.
President Gauck extended warm best wishes for President Rajapaksa and expressed his willingness to further strengthen the two countries relations.
