Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin showcased the distinctive diversity, compactness and the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka and promoted Sri Lankan Tea on 31st August 2014

Image01 webThe Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin showcased the distinctive diversity, compactness and the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka and promoted Sri Lanka as a destination for tourism, trade and investment at the event ''Open Day'' under the slogan of ''Future Charter – One World, One Responsibility'' organised by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany on 31st August 2014.

Image02 webThe event provided an opportunity to the German public to obtain comprehensive information in both the bilateral relations of Germany with the partner countries and the cultural specifics, typical characteristics and economical & tourism aspects of the partner countries.

Image03 webAt the stall, Sri Lanka displayed artefacts, handicrafts and samples of Sri Lankan cinnamon and tea. Visitors were able to taste a cup of pure Ceylon Tea and even take a pack of tea home for a unique Ceylon Tea experience.

Image04 webVisitors also received an opportunity to enjoy the traditional dances of Sri Lanka performed by Anjali Dissanayake and students from the Sri Lankan community in Berlin.

Image05 webThe Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Germany, Mr. Karunatikala Amunugama, has welcomed Mr. Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, inviting him to light the traditional oil lamp at the Sri Lankan stall.
