Hanover business community ready to promote Sri Lanka

Hanover DinnerUpcoming business and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka received much attention during Ambassador Amunugama's recent meetings with Dr. Christian Hinsch, the Chief Executive Officer of HDI Global - one of the largest insurance companies in Germany, and the President of Hannover Chamber of Commerce and other Members of the Chambers at the Gala dinner organized by the Honorary Consular Corps of Lower Saxony, which was held on Saturday 10th June 2017 at Castle Hannover-Herrenhausen.

The event drew a large number of top ranking investors and businessmen from Lower Saxony and was also graced by the presence of Lower Saxony Ministers of Economy and Interior.

During the visit, Ambassador KarunatilakaAmunugama met several important businessmen and investors representing different sectors and briefed them on the prevailing and upcoming business opportunities and investment trends in Sri Lanka. Ambassador Amunugama also encouraged the potential German business partners to join Sri Lanka in its efforts to uplift the Sri Lankan economy and to become a part of its booming economic and investment avenues.These remarks of the Ambassador were well received by the German side, who in return conveyed their enthusiasm in getting actively involved in Sri Lanka's business opportunities as well as in meeting Sri Lanka's business community in Hannover at an appropriate time.

Inviting Sri Lankan promotional agencies and businessmen to make use of the opportunities at the Hannover Messe, Dr. Andreas Gruchow, a Member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe, discussed with Ambassador Amunugama the possibility in promoting Sri Lanka as a regional venue for trade and tourism events. Mr. Claus Holtmann, Sri Lanka's Honorary Consul to the Southern Part of Lower Saxony, joined Ambassador Amunugama during these meetings.
