Following the decision of the Government of Sri Lanka to close down the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt, the provision of consular services by the Consulate will cease from 31 st December 2021. However, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin will continue to serve Sri Lankan citizens in Germany uninterruptedly covering the jurisdictions of all Federal States of Germany including the jurisdictions which came under the purview of the Consulate General.
In this context, Sri Lankan citizens who seek consular services are requested to send their applications to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin. In the event, any citizen is unable to make the submission at the Berlin Mission in-person as specified in the Consular Act of Sri Lanka, he or she could still submit the applications through Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in the German States of Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Saarland or any other Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in the close proximity to their residential areas.
