Sri Lanka Ambassador Karunatilaka Amunugama met State Secretary Stephan Steinlein of the Federal Foreign Office recently and discussed on enhancing long standing friendly bilateral relations.
State Secretary Steinlein warmly welcomed Ambassador Amunugama as Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Germany and expressed his sincere anticipation that the two countries would reach to its new heights in their bilateral relations during his tenure of office in Berlin. State Secretary Steinlein conveyed his fullest support towards that end.
Ambassador Amunugama took the opportunity to brief State Secretary Steinlein on the socio- economic developments, national reconciliation aftermath of the defeat of the LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka.
Both reiterated to work closely in the fields of Political, Trade and Economic, Socio-cultural, etc. for the mutual benefit.
