Sri Lanka Ambassador for Germany Karunatilaka Amunugama held a meeting with the Hans Joachim Fuchtel, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
The Ambassador made use of the opportunity to thank the Federal Ministry for the assistance extended to Sri Lanka for the economic development and uplifting of the living standard, and requested the continued assistance of the Federal Ministry.
The Ambassador further stated that Sri Lanka has a huge gap between demand and supply of skilled and professional labour and requested the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany to assist Sri Lanka in this matter, as Germany has a remarkable system of technical education.
The Ambassador extended an invitation to the Federal Secretary to visit Sri Lanka in order to witness the progress taking place in the country. The Federal Secretary responded positively.
