Ambassador Karunatilaka Amunugama meets State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany

AmbEderer1 webWhile highlighting on current socio-economic advancement of the country, Ambassador Amunugama elaborated on the initiatives taken by his Government towards national reconciliation. He also explained in detail about the post-war challenges faced by the Government due to the activities of the LTTE-elements overseas.

State Secretary Markus Ederer emphasized the importance given to Asia and East Asia in German Foreign Policy. They also discussed international and regional issues that in turn are important for Sri Lanka - German bilateral relations.

Both expressed their satisfaction over the long-standing friendly bilateral relations and assured to strengthen the same for the mutual benefit of the two people in the years to come.

State Secretary Markus Ederer conveyed warm best wishes of his Government to Ambassador Amunugama for his tenure of office in Berlin as Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Germany.

Mr. Markus Ederer was the Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union's Delegation to China and Mongolia in 2011-2013 before this appointment in the German Federal Foreign Office as State Secretary.
