Renewal of Sri Lankan Driving License

Required Documents:

1. Duly filled MTA30/2 Offline application (original)
   Please obtain an original application form from the Embassy and complete the application using a black colour pen. Fingerprint and signature has to be placed in front of the authorized officer at the Sri Lankan Embassy.
2. Current Driving License issued by Department of Motor Traffic, Sri Lanka
3. Medical Certificate (from Germany or respective country (if the applicant resides in an accredited country)
4. Valid Passport and copy of the data page of the Passport
5. Valid Visa
6. National Identity Card (N.IC.) (it’s not mandatory if the N.I.C. number is mentioned in the Passport)
7. Two black and white passport size photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)

English translations should be produced for all the documents issued in foreign Languages.

Fee: € 110

Note: If the License is already expired an additional €10 will be charged per year.

Duplicate of Driving License

Required documents:

1. Duly filled MTA30/2 Offline application (original)
   Please obtain an original application form from the Embassy and complete the application using a black colour pen. Fingerprint and signature has to be placed in front of the authorized officer at the Sri Lanka Embassy.
2. Copy of complaint made to the police station if the driving licence is lost. In case the current driving licence is deformed or blurred, please submit the same.
3. Valid Passport and copy of the data page of the Passport
4. Valid Visa
5. National Identity Card (N.IC.) (it’s not mandatory if the N.I.C. number is mentioned in the passport)
6. It is mandatory to mention the Driving Licence number or N.I.C. number to trace back details in the computer system
7. Two black and white passport-size photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)

Change of personal details of a Driving License

Required documents:

1. Duly filled MTA30/2 Offline application (Original)
   Please obtain an original application form from the Embassy and complete the application using a black colour pen. Fingerprint and signature has to be placed in front of the authorized officer at the Sri Lanka Embassy.
2. Current Driving License issued by Department of Motor Traffic, Sri Lanka
3. Valid Passport and copy of the data page of the Passport
4. Valid Visa
5. National Identity Card (N.IC.) (it’s not mandatory if the N.I.C. number is mentioned in the passport)
6. Evidence documents related to the changes made, i.e. Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate etc. for the name change and Resident Certificate for address change
7. Two black and white passport size photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)

English translations should be produced for all the documents issued in foreign Languages.

Confirmation of SL Driving License to obtain EU or Foreign Driving License

• Translated documents will not be accepted as originals
• All photocopies must be on A4 size paper & should be one sided.
• Renewal of driving license, issuance a copy (duplicate) of the driving license in case of lost or damaged and change of personal details (name or address) of a Driving License can only be entertained through this service.
• Fees will not be refunded under any circumstances after issuance of a receipt.

Your application maybe rejected in the events of the following:

• Incomplete application / lack of all required supporting documents
• Using photo copied application forms
• If anything is written outside the border of the application form
• If colour or incorrect size photograph is submitted (ONLY BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS OF 35mmx45mm WILL BE ACCEPTED)
