Tourist / Visit Visa

Tourist/ Visit Visa for Thirty (30) days can be applied online via the official website of the Department of Immigration & Emigration of Sri Lanka (ETA Official Website), https://eta.gov.lk/. The 30 days visa can be extended further after arrival in Sri Lanka from the Head Office of the Department of Immigration & Emigration of Sri Lanka in Battaramulla or via online https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/vs/home.php

  1. In addition, travellers from Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, North Macedonia and Montenegro can also apply tourist/visit visa for Thirty (30) Days & Ninety (90) days from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin by visiting the Embassy in person or by the Post.

If you intend to apply Tourist/Visit Visa from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin, the following documents are required:

    1. Passport (Original)
    2. ETA-Application Form
    3. Flight reservation
    4. Visa fees or Visa fee transfer receipt
    5. Travel plan in Sri Lanka or hotel booking confirmation (Accommodation for the first day in Sri Lanka would be sufficient)
    6. Self addressed and stamped envelope in order to return the passport to the applicant

Note: Please note that with effect from 15 October 2025, all those visiting Sri Lanka for short-stay (tourism and business) purposes are required to obtain the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) through website: www.eta.gov.lk

3. Visitors who already possess a valid Sri Lankan passport, valid residence permit in Sri Lanka or dual citizens of Sri Lanka do not need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. Visitors travelling Sri Lanka other than for tourist or business purposes (i.e. diplomatic, journalist, etc.) must obtain visa prior to travel to Sri Lanka from the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin or the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Colombo, irrespective of the duration of stay.

For Thirty (30) Days- € 48.00

For Ninety (90) Days- € 143.00
