Ambassador Manori Unambuwe presented Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of *Montenegro *Milo Đukanović at the Presidential Palace in Cetinje, accrediting her as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Montenegro.
The ceremony entailed a Guard of Honour of the Montenegrin Armed Forces, presentation of the Letters of Credence and a discussion with President Milo Đukanović and his entourage. The Ambassador was accompanied by First Secretary of the Mission Buddhika Wimalasena.
During the discussion, Ambassador Manori Unambuwe conveyed greetings of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and recalled the exceptional relationship that existed between the two countries in the times of former Socialist Federal Republic of *Yugoslavia,* specially in the context of the Non-Alignment Movement. President Đukanović reciprocated his greetings to his Sri Lankan counterpart and expressed strong interest to further strengthen multifaceted bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador highlighted the business-friendly environment of the country and drew attention to the increasing interest of the international business community to invest in Sri Lanka, whilst elaborating on new opportunities and areas of possible cooperation.
The Sri Lanka Embassy in Germany is concurrently accredited to the Republic of Montenegro.
